Sustainability – Aplicaciones Tecnológicas calculates its carbon footprint to start reducing CO2 emissions
Aplicaciones Tecnológicas S.A. has obtained the seal that certifies the registration as a company committed to reducing its carbon footprint, issued by the Spanish Climate Change Office. This seal, obtained for the first time by calculating the CO2 emissions generated by industrial activity, reinforces the company’s commitment to sustainability and the constant improvement of its environmental practices.
The path towards decarbonisation of Aplicaciones Tecnológicas S.A. has reached a new milestone with the award of the “Calculo-Reduzco-Compenso” seal by the Spanish Office for Climate Change, part of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. This seal recognises the efforts of Spanish organisations in the calculation and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions generated by their activity.
The footprint registered by Aplicaciones Tecnológicas S.A. includes a CO2 emissions reduction plan, which is verified before registration. The last phase is compensation through carbon dioxide absorption projects, such as the revitalisation of forest areas.
Sustainability – Other certifications
Also in 2023, Aplicaciones Tecnológicas S.A. recertified its Environmental Management System in the last week, based on the UNE-EN ISO 14001:2015 standard. This certificate, which was first obtained in 2008, is the recognition of the company’s efforts to adapt all production processes to reduce waste, to raise awareness of the staff to become more sustainable, to continuously review environmental legislation and to look for opportunities to improve year after year. One example of this commitment is the 100kW solar panel installation in the new production and logistics centre.
