ISO2858 mag-driven centrifugal pumps for nitric acid solution
In an ammonia production plant in South Africa
Our South African distributor SG PLASTICS has sold and installed ARGAL FRONTIERA series process pumps made of E-CTFE. Designed for the heaviest applications, FRONTIERA centrifugal process pumps can pump even the most aggressive liquids thanks to their high chemical resistance.
In this case, 4 pumps were installed in an industrial fume abatement plant. Configured in the magnetic drive version and with a monobloc construction, the "TMF" pumps were requested with ATEX-certified motors and with an external armature in AISI 316 to enable them to operate in explosion-risk environments.
In fact, the pumps will transfer a nitric acid-based solution to transform a liquid ammonia gas into ammonium nitrate: both nitrates are known to be potentially explosive.
