25 years Handtmann A-Punkt Automation GmbH. 25 years of innovation, growth and productivity

The year 1989 was crucial for the growth and for today''s success of Handtmann A-Punkt Automation GmbH. After the take-over by the Handtmann Company Group, A-Punkt Automation GmbH not only received its current name but was also integrated into the family-owned company based in Biberach and became part of the brand “Handtmann”. Along with the take-over the corporate purpose which has so far been the construction of gantry robots changed to the development and construction of 5-axis machining centres; in the very beginning only for simple machining operations in plastics and aluminum. Out of this core the expertise in high-tech engineering was successively evolved over the years.

The Handtmann Company Group stands for tradition with its more than 140 years of existence and at the same time for innovation and development with a total of 3,000 employees worldwide today. After Arthur Handtmann took over the company with 20 employees in 1946 and developed it into a powerful business group, his son Thomas Handtmann has been leading the company since 1998, now in its fourth generation.

The Handtmann Group is headquartered in the Swabian city Biberach an der Riss and comprises six companies and a holding company. The company group offers with the areas of metal casting and system technology for the automotive industry, machine construction for the food industry, plant manufacturing for the beverage industry, plastics manufacturing and the machining centres a very broad product spectrum targeting a large variety of markets.
