New level probe DCL 532 with i2C interface

With the DCL532, BD|SENSORS is presenting a new level probe with a stainless steel sensor in a proven, high-quality design. The special feature of this probe is an i2C interface that the device uses to communicate digitally with higher-level systems.

In recent years, the summer months in Europe have been impacted by extreme weather conditions and depleting groundwater volumes. To respond to this more purposefully, the number of monitoring networks for measuring levels of ground and surface water has increased constantly.

It’s precisely for these applications that BD|SENSORS is presenting a new, low-power level probe that offers proven technical features as well as a digital i2C interface.

The core of the DCL 532 is a highly precise and long-term stable piezoresistive stainless steel pressure sensor. Ranges starting from 1 to 40 metres with an accuracy of up to 0.1% FSO are covered. Another plus is extremely low power consumption during measurement or in standby mode – in figures spoken lower than 1mA during operation and less than 50 µA in standby. This ensures a long service life which is essential in battery-powered measurement data acquisition systems.

The above-mentioned technical features and robust stainless steel enclosure make the probe a reliable system element when levels are measured in water, or in clean to slightly contaminated liquids. With the DCL 532 public and private water suppliers who operate monitoring networks for measuring levels have the advantage of a long-lasting and reliable product.
