The difference between AGV and RGV
The difference between material handling vehicles AGV and RGV
The main differences between AGV and RGV are their guidance methods, intelligence, applicable scenarios and maintenance costs.
Guidance method: AGV (automatic guided transport vehicle) realizes intelligent and mechanized operation mode by receiving and executing instructions, while RGV (rail-guided vehicle) is a vehicle running on the track and needs to obtain power from the busbar.
Intelligence: AGV has a high degree of intelligence, can navigate autonomously, has stable operation, and has relatively few fault points. In contrast, although RGV has a simple structure, strong anti-interference ability to the external environment, strong operation stability, and few fault points, mainly concentrated in the trolley system, its intelligence is low and requires guidance from professional technicians.
Applicable scenarios: AGV is suitable for production lines that require high automation, can realize intelligent operation and improve production efficiency. RGV is suitable for production lines that require flexibility and strong adaptability, and can adapt to different working environments and task requirements.
Maintenance cost: Since the RGV trolley has a simple structure and its parts are basically domestic standard parts, the equipment maintenance cost is low. The AGV is complex in structure, uses imported and self-designed components, and is expensive. In addition, battery maintenance and magnetic strip replacement also have costs, and the maintenance cost is much higher than that of RGV.
In summary, the choice of AGV or RGV depends on the actual production needs and circumstances. AGV is more suitable for highly automated production lines, while RGV is more suitable for work environments that require flexibility and adaptability.
