Analysis of laser market development

In recent years, benefiting from the overall prosperity of the laser industry, the laser market has been expanding.

Data show that in 2016, the domestic laser market size of more than 7 billion yuan, the potential market size will reach 30 billion yuan.

However, the vast majority of domestic laser market share is occupied by foreign enterprises.

In 2016, IPG share in domestic laser market exceeded 50%, reaching 52.7%.

Fortunately, with the more and more extensive application of laser technology and the gradual mastery of laser technology by domestic enterprises, the pace of localization of laser market is accelerating.

Take fiber laser as an example, ruike laser and other products began to be commercially shipped in recent years, gradually breaking the monopoly of foreign enterprises in the field of fiber laser, but also gradually lower the price of imported products.

According to the power division, at present, low-power fiber laser less than 100W has been basically localized, the localization rate of fiber laser less than 1.5kw has reached 60%, while the localization rate of high-power fiber laser more than 1.5kw is only 11%.

High power laser localization is difficult, on the one hand, in the epitaxial materials and chip field of professional research and development personnel is very scarce, concentrated in the United States, Germany, Britain, Japan and a few other countries.

On the other hand, the early stage of research and development investment is large, in the case of product sales expectations are not clear, invested a large amount of money to develop the laser several subdivided industries of software solutions greater risk.

At the same time, in order to meet the needs of different industries, the subsequent technical update and product upgrade also need a large investment in research and development and financial support.
