BlueSens CH4 measurement technology at the booth of Gen-C on the UK AD & Biogas fair

Gen-C presents application for BlueSens´ sensors

Gen-C, a British company for the equipment, installation and maintenance of gas engines, showed on its booth at the UK AD & Biogas fair in Birmingham an application for BlueSens BCP-CH4 gas sensors. In this setup the BlueSens methane sensor is used to ensure a problem free start-up of the gas engine for the power generation with biogas. In the gas treatment line, which supplies the engine with the CH4/CO2 gas mixture, the CH4 sensor continuously measures the concentration of methane and ensures a quick and reliable starting of motors. As a result, the produced electricity will be fed immediately into the power grid.

The increasing supply of other renewable energies such as from wind and solar energy is resulting increasing fluctuations in the power grid. Therefore, the electricity from biogas plants is increasingly being used to compensate these fluctuations and balance demand peaks. It is crucial that the biogas engines can start quickly and without stressing the components. The accurate real-time measurement values of the BlueSens sensors help to ensuring trouble-free operation.

The UK AD & Biogas Fair is the leading trade fair for the entire biogas industry in the UK.
