Located close to Chalon sur Saone (187 milles away from Paris), the Maximarché of Saint-Gengoux-le-National has 15 employees and welcomes 3,000 customers every week.

This supermarket belongs to the Schiever Group, a multi-services and multi-formats retail group with more than 160 stores and 10 brands in France.

Following a change of refrigeration units, Thomas Minet, the store manager, wanted to simplify the temperature record for the employees. He also wanted remote and real-time access to the store's database and to be notified in case of temperature excursions. Thus, he chose to try the Blulog wireless solutions which measure and store temperature data every 10 minutes in a given location.

Credit-card sized, the Blulog data loggers are provided with a holder for easy wall installation.

Thanks to the Plug & Play system, the installation is particularly easy. Equipped with a wireless data transmission, the RF data loggers have a range of 700 meters in open fields and repeaters are available to extend the range.

“We were buying new refrigeration units and I wanted to find a modern, reliable and time-saving solution” explains Thomas Minet, the store manager “During the test phase, we could notice how the Blulog wireless data loggers were in line with our expectations”.

Reliability is also a key point: 0.2°C precision between 0 and 30°C and 0.5°C on the rest of the range -40°C to +70°C

The autonomy, memory and calibration of the data loggers have a 3 years warranty - the entire life cycle of the battery.

“The Blulog wireless data loggers are very easy to use and can be adapted to any refrigeration unit. In contrast with the other temperature monitoring systems which are wired and less efficient, Blulog distinguishes itself by a RF wireless system that covers larger areas.“explains Yoann Borsato, Business Development Officer at Linéal, distributor of the Blulog products for the French food retail sector.

“I really appreciate the temperature reports available on the web application that can be exported via CSV or PDF format. I regularly look at historical data in graphical format and store all the weekly reports.” explains Thomas Minet.

As a consequence of the test phase, the solution was validated in the store.

The Schiever group has been convinced of the quality and benefits of this solution and is planning to equip all its medium-size stores with the Blulog solution.
