Advanced sensor – Tubular load cell instead of force measuring pin
BROSA possess advancement in force measurement technology. Tubular load cells
measure radial forces acting on an axis with a constant or variable direction of the force
transfer. These can even be used in case of axes that have not been suitable for force
measurements due to their dimensions or deflection. The combination of several tubular load
cells on one axis is possible – not alone to ascertain the load on several pulleys at the same
time.
The field of application is wide-ranging: from the force measuring in runners on lattice boom
cranes to pulleys on drilling rigs to the mounting in drive units on jack-up rigs. Thereby
measuring ranges can vary greatly from 40 kN up to 5500 kN.
In October of this year BROSA delivered its 200th tubular load cell.
