Bühler Motor Aviation is taking flight

Dr. Lester Faleiro, appointed managing director

Nuremberg, February 28, 2020 – As of February 1 of this year, Dr. Lester Faleiro was appointed managing director of Bühler Motor Aviation GmbH based in Uhldingen-Mühlhofen. The main activity of the company is the development and production of innovative systems and components for aircraft seats.

Together with Mark Furtwängler, member of the owner family, CEO of the Bühler Motor Group and Managing Director of Bühler Motor Aviation GmbH, he will lead the company into the future. In his function, Dr. Faleiro assumes both commercial and technical responsibility.

Dr. Faleiro joined Buehler Motor Aviation in April 2019 as technical director.

Before joining Bühler Motor, Dr. Faleiro worked for Liebherr Aerospace in Lindenberg/Allgäu for more than 18 years. During this time he managed European projects in the field of electrical aircraft systems. He was responsible for the company's pre-development strategy and led the in-service engineering department for flight control products.

Born in India, Dr. Faleiro grew up in Kuwait, where his father worked professionally.

The study of aeronautical engineering finally led him to Great Britain. This is also where he received his doctorate. His curiosity and his gift for languages were to his advantage. In addition to his native English, Dr. Faleiro was also able to communicate in French, Portuguese, Hindi, and Arabic.

After his doctorate, he followed without hesitation a job offer to Germany. During three years in Oberpfaffenhofen, a seat of the German Aerospace Center, he immersed himself deeply in the culture and language that was new to him.

While working, Dr. Faleiro completed an MBA program at the Manchester Business School.
