Bühler Motor at the IAA: Electrical pumps for the mobility solutions of the present and the future
Nuremberg, 22. August 2017 – A comprehensive modular kit of future-oriented, mechatronic drive solutions awaits visitors of the Bühler Motor GmbH booth. Bühler Motor’s Vice President Automotive Solutions Rudolf Kaiser: “Never before in the history of our company have we been able to offer so many new products at the IAA in Frankfurt.”
This year, the spotlight is on electrical pumps and pump drives for use in thermal management, gearboxes and four-wheel drive systems, as well as in emissions reduction and providing vacuum for power break units.
The offering is already closely oriented towards e-mobility requirements. A wide range of functions can be reproduced independently, without the presence of a combustion engine. Typical examples are the ability to keep batteries and power electronics at the right temperature and air-conditioning of the internal space.
Bühler Motor is particularly proud of the bFlow C water pump product family, which now closely covers the 12 to 150 watt range, and the bFlow O gearbox oil pump platform, which is prepared for a wide variety of applications in the 20 to 600 watt power range.
Rudolf Kaiser: “By consistently expanding our product families, we are able to make sure our customers can effectively cope with every imaginable challenge, whether it be the irresistible march of e-mobility, optimizing hybrid motors, or effectively developing the concepts for conventional motors.”
The precisely adjustable and controllable motor solutions by Bühler Motor are our top picks for fluids such as coolants, oil, and urea that need to be brought to exactly the right temperature and circulated. We also recommend them for building up, reducing and maintaining pressure. Small electronically commutated DC motors are the core. These drive solutions can be integrated easily into even the narrowest spaces within the systems of the vehicle by the manufacturer. Communication is embedded within the motors to ensure the pumps share accurate information with the existing vehicle systems and report speed or temperature. While this feature exists, motors also have the ability to act independently and perform necessary emergency shutdown when necessary.
At Bühler Motor we are already thinking ahead to anticipate the needs of our customers. Whether it is the reproduction of functions up to now performed by the driver in autonomously-driven vehicles or the special load requirements with shared vehicles, Bühler Motor is consistently developing its portfolio to enable it to support its customers in facing the challenges the future will bring.
The continued expansion of global production capacities includes the strategic expansion of further international service sites. In October, Bühler Motor is opening an Engineering & Sales Office in Detroit.
As our global footprint expands, Bühler Motor is equally committed to strengthening the German facility. Production capacity will be expanded at the Monheim plant to enable the best possible provision for every scenario imaginable for the customer.
