In order to design and develop accurate and efficient piping systems, a good understanding of the rheology of slurries and slurry viscosity is essential, and determination of the slurry rheology is of paramount importance.

To obtain maximum accuracy in gas calculations, particularly in systems where large pressure losses occur, the Joule-Thomson effect needs to be included in the solution. The Joule-Thomson effect is the phenomenon by which the temperature of a gas increases or decreases during an adiabatic, irreversible and isenthalpic expansion.

The fluid networks sizing is a critical task in any plant design project. Improper plant sizing will have major repercussions on the investment cost, operating costs and reliability of the plant.
