Easy Reprocessing of FFP 2 & FFP 3 masks with Vaccum Pro Series
Statement of the Austrian Society of sterile good supply
Dear customers and business partners,
On 23.03.2020, the ÖGSV (Austrian Society for Sterile Goods Supply) published a statement on the current supply situation with FFP 2 and FFP 3 respirators. It is pointed out that reprocessing of these disposable masks is possible under the following guidelines:
"Reprocessing of FFP2 and FFP3 protective masks with or without a valve can, according to current knowledge, be carried out using the following procedures (visibly soiled or damaged masks must not be reprocessed!)
• Steam sterilization at 121 °C / 20 min (134 °C / 5 min is also possible, but this procedure puts more strain on the rubber band, which could be readjusted or replaced if necessary)
• Steam sterilization at 105 °C / 5 min (mattress disinfection system or corresponding program in the steam sterilizer)
In principle, EO and FO sterilization methods are also effective, but are not recommended due to the possible residues in the filter material.“ – Statement of the ÖSGV's expert committee on testing
Our autoclaves of the Vacuum Pro Series 12 - 22 liters can be adjusted to the corresponding parameters and can be used for the reprocessing of FFP 2 & FFP 3 masks.
