Level Switch Successfully Applied in Level Measurement of Fumed Silica

Fork-11 Vibrating Level Switch Used In Fumed Silica Industry

The level measurement of fumed silica has always been a difficult problem in material industry until Jiwei Fork-11 Tuning Fork Level Switch is successfully applied in various fumed silica projects.

Level switch is usually installed on the tank to measure and control the material level in fumed silica storage process to avoid environmental pollution and material waste due to overflow accident. However, it is difficult to accurately measure the level of fumed silica and the problem distresses many of our clients due to the properties of fumed silica: low density (0.01 ~ 0.03g/cm³), fine particle, easier drifting in the air to form dust and lower dielectric constant, etc. Today, the successful application of Jiwei Fork-11 Tuning Fork Level Switch in many fumed silica related projects in Xinjiang, Jiangsu and other areas is making this problematic situation a history because of unique characteristics and advantages of Fork-11.

Firstly, the high reliability of Fork-11 is not affected by dielectric constant. Fork-11 Tuning Fork Level Switch is based on the resonance principle and detecting the state of resonance. The vibration is driven by piezoelectric ceramics which has nothing to do with material dielectric constant. Therefore, the reliability of the level switch will not be affected no matter the dielectric constant of fumed silica is relatively lower or higher.

Secondly, the measurable density of Fork-11 can be as low as 8g/l (0.008g/cm³). Fork-11 Tuning Fork Level Switch is designed with wider and thinner fork body and it is precisely pre-tuned for resonance. The vibration characteristics of the two forks are completely symmetrical to achieve complete resonance. Fork-11 reaches the highest sensitivity after fine resonance adjustment, and suits for the level measurement of powder with ultra-low density (0.008g/cm³). Furthermore, the sensitivity of the instrument can be adjusted according to the specific density of the measuring material.

Finally, Fork-11 has an excellent tolerance for material buildup. After being precisely tuned, Fork-11 has a larger redundancy for material buildup. In some special situations or for some strong adhesive material, “scarring” may occur on the fork body. It is suggested to install a sweeping blower to clean the fork body and solve the issue.
