The worsening in the global shortage of containers is driving up shipping costs and causing shipping delays. The problem is likely to last into 2022.

With August just around the corner, it’s about time for brands and retailers to start preparing for the upcoming holiday season. However, this could surely worsen the shipping problem in the future while the industry is currently facing a worldwide container shortage crisis caused by the pandemic.

Manufacturers and exporters are struggling to find enough containers for transporting their goods. Also, listed prices to ship from China to major ports in Europe and the U.S. are heading to $20,000 per 40ft container.
