RESEACH
By the beginning of 2003 CICROSA, a leading manufacturer of hydraulic cylinders, started a research process in order to implement laser technology for the welding of their cylinders. After more than a year of investigations, finite-element model-makings and developments, and in collaboration with several specialised technology institutes, the laser welding for hydraulic cylinders is implated.

PROCESS
Laser beam precision focuses all the energy of the process in the point where the pieces are going to be welded. Distortion is minimal, which allows an integrated production system that ensures a perfect alignament of oilports and improves assembly and manufacture operations. Resulting seams are narrow and penetration of welding is siperior, which improves the external appearance of the cylinder and the quality of the union.
