Circul-Aire's Cleanaire CHEMICAL MEDIA FILTRATION
Circul-Aire’s Cleanaire was originally developed to filter outdoor air contaminants
brought into buildings through ventilation systems. Since its introduction, Cleanaire with
its high removal efficiency for a broad spectrum of chemical contaminants, has proven to
be the ideal chemical filter for a wide range of applications. Applications like the removal
of generated indoor contaminants, such as VOC’s and formaldehyde, nuisance odors from
bathrooms or kitchens and harmful industrial gasses and odors.
Air handling units bring in outdoor air to dilute and remove gas contaminants generated within the
building. Unfortunately outdoor air is not always “clean”. Contamination from industry, motor vehicles,
heating systems and even kitchen exhaust can cause outside air to be as contaminated as indoor air.
Buildings generally have particulate filtration to deal with the particulate pollution found in outdoor air.
Particulate filtration does not remove SOx (oxides of sulfur), NOx, (oxides of nitrogen), VOCs (volatile
organic compounds), and ozone that can increase the problem of indoor contamination and unhealthy
indoor air quality.
The addition of typical chemical filters to outdoor air handling systems adds to both the initial size and
energy raieequirements. This added cost has greatly limited the use of chemical filtration for outdoor air
and makes retrofitting existing systems difficult.
Circul-Aire’s Cleanaire was developed to solve these problems. Cleanaire’s unique shape and
composition gives it very high removal efficiency allowing for a thin bed with low pressure drop.
Circul-Aire has been manufacturing chemical filtration systems for over 35 years.
