Delivers Low Emissions Without FGR

Cleaver-Brooks announces the launch of the Model FLX Premix (FLXPM) Flextube® boiler, designed to deliver less than 20 ppm NOx and less than 10 ppm CO without flue gas recirculation (FGR). Premix boiler technology enables the boiler to achieve these levels on natural gas with an option for 9 ppm NOx without FGR. The boiler is available in six sizes from 75 to 250 HP.

The Model FLXPM responds quickly, meeting the needs essential for many industries, including schools, hospitals, medical facilities, office complexes, pharmaceutical and manufacturing processes and laundry operations. The FLXPM is also ultra-quiet when running. The noise level on the 250 HP unit is less than 80 dBA.

The modulating burner control on the Model FLXPM automatically adjusts the air/gas mixture for maximum efficiency and up to 5:1 turndown. The variable-speed fan modulates to provide only the required amount of combustion air to the boiler, reducing energy consumption. Full modulation reduces on/off cycling and provides excellent load tracking, resulting in reduced operating costs.

The FLXPM integrates a servo-driven, fuel-input control valve with air-input control via a variable-frequency-drive fan for precise fuel/air ratio control. Energy-demand transmitters send a signal to the burner control, managing the burner firing rate throughout the modulating range.

The boiler has a small footprint, so several units can be easily worked into a boiler room or larger hydronic system of condensing or non-condensing boilers.

FGR piping is not required. The elimination of the FGR duct simplifies installation, improves safety and reduces maintenance.

The burner in the Model FLXPM is designed for automatic, unattended operation, except for periodic inspection and maintenance. In addition, the burner can be password-protected to maintain the parameters set at start-up.
