Honeywell introduces lightweight steel mesh barrier to protect workers at height

Lightweight, flexible design can be installed quickly for at-height or on-ground applications, reduces worker fatigue while increasing productivity and providing optimal safety

Honeywell has rolled out a lightweight, flexible version of its popular Honeywell Combisafe Steel Mesh Barrier (SMB) fall protection system. Designed using Honeywell-engineered materials, the lightweight barrier design has the virtue of being easier to lift, move, transport and set up, so it can decrease muscular injuries and reduce fatigue on a job site.

What’s more, the innovative design allows for application on the ground or at height and during at any stage of a construction project. With a variety of attachments, the lightweight barrier can be used to meet an endless variety of construction site challenges.

“This system provides critical life safety protection, but its flexibility and maneuverability can help reduce injuries and forestall worker fatigue, and these benefits can add up to time savings that in turn, lead to increased productivity on the job and faster job turnarounds,” said Luca Favarin, Honeywell product manager.

Two versions of the system are available, meeting class A and Class ABC requirements, and both are the lightest steel edge protection barrier made (weight per meter) in their class.

Features include:

• Dense, flexible mesh reduces risk of injuries in case of fall against the barrier , and helps prevent debris from falling

• Reinforced side bars minimizes damages during handling

• Toe board closed and returned for enhanced debris containment at the slab edge

• Top-class welded mesh for enhanced resistance and durability

• High toe board for additional protection
