Presenting the CoCo-70X Vibration Analyzer
The CoCo-70X is Crystal Instruments’ latest handheld vibration analyzer, designed specifically for the machinery Predictive Maintenance (PdM) community. The four-channel analyzer features an IP-67 rating and is ideal for a wide range of industries including petrochemical, paper, steel and other metals, automotive, aviation, aerospace, electronics and military.
The newly designed chassis is lighter and more ruggedized than the CoCo-80X, making the CoCo-70X a perfect device for route-based measurements. The intuitive user-interface provides users with an easy-to-use data collection experience. Pre-configured analysis tools are available for all types of diagnostic applications, so no time is spent configuring tests. Trouble-shoot difficult machine problems using embedded Analysis Experts, or manually configure data acquisition for specific applications.
Route-based measurements are an essential part of today’s predictive maintenance programs. By using the CoCo-70X data collector in conjunction with the VDS diagnostic system, bearing and gear faults can be detected as they are developing – not after machinery is already damaged and near failure. By providing an early indication of developing faults, significant and costly damage can be avoided.
VDS supports maintaining one or more machine routes. Once uploaded to a data collector the user can use it to gather data for some or all the machines in the route. The data is then downloaded to VDS for storage in the database. Before the data is placed into the database each set of machine data is grouped together and assigned to a Test Group. The Test Group ensures that the data is for this data collection cycle will always be identifiable. There is no need to check data timestamps to ensure the data being analyzed is all from the same collection period.
The VDS diagnostic system uses a rules-based, probabilistic, forward-chaining inference engine. Once a machine (based on a machine class) is associated, averaging data, full manual and automated analysis can proceed. When current data is compared to the average data for the machine class, we can observe where the current data is starting to diverge from the average data, which represents a healthy machine. VDS diagnostic reports identify machine faults, recommend actions, and includes analyst comments.
