With version 7, CHRONOS is entering a new era of archive management.

With version 7, CHRONOS is entering a new era of archive management.
The release not only brings a completely redesigned interface, but also more automation, AI support, and security – all developed based on the experiences and needs of countless users in daily practice.

More than 95 user stories and over 90 bug fixes have been implemented. The goal: to make CHRONOS simpler, more powerful, and future-proof.

“We wanted to create a release that not only convinces technically but also feels noticeably better in everyday use,” says Matthias Scherm, Product Owner CHRONOS.
“CHRONOS 7 is meant to show that modern archiving doesn’t have to become more complicated, but smarter.”

* New Archive Explorer

The newly designed Archive Explorer impresses with a redesigned interface and significantly improved usability. A side menu provides better clarity, time filters are easier to access, and uploads are now also possible in CSV and OpenDocument formats.
The user manual and the formatting of downloads have also been completely revised.

* Optimized backend & automation

Under the hood, a newly developed CHRONOS mapping system ensures simplified database integration and better performance.
Automatic repository updates, revised notification mechanisms, and modernized email communication improve stability and background processes.

* AI moves in: CAIA

With CAIA – CHRONOS Artificial Intelligence Architect, artificial intelligence enters the stage for the first time.
CAIA supports administrators in configuring their archives – through intelligent suggestions and automated adjustments that reduce effort and minimize sources of error.

* User Management System 2.0

The completely redesigned User Management System (UMS) 2.0 now runs as an independent service with a modern web interface and an integrated repository database (additional relational databases are supported).
It simplifies permission management, user organization, and administration – while offering increased security and transparency.

* Full monitoring with ChronMon

With CHRONOS Monitoring – ChronMon, a dedicated web client for system monitoring is available for the first time. It provides real-time insights into server status, running jobs, and archive configurations – a clear advantage for anyone who needs to keep an overview of complex installations.
