The principle of membrane filter press
The principle of membrane filter press is based on the recessed chamber filter press – to replace the recessed plates assemblies into alternated membrane filter plates and matching plates pattern. The membrane filter plates are different from recessed filter plates in structure. Because there is a enclosed cavity which can contain high pressure water or compressed air inside of membrane filter plates.
The filtrate pushing out of the filter chamber by feeding pressure while the slurry filled into the filter chamber. After the filter cake formed inside of the filter chamber, fill the membrane plates with high pressure water or compressed air to inflate the plate for squeezing the filter cakes. So that is called filter cake second dewatering. It is sure that the water content of filter cake processed by membrane filter press shall be more lower than the filter cake processed by recessed chamber filter press.
