DF-5420 On-line Concentration (Density) Meter

Description

DF 5420 Online Concentration (Density) Meter permits the continuous measurement and process control on density, concentration and solids content of various fluids in a non-contacting manner. It is designed for demanding applications in a wide range of industries, including refining, mining, pulp and paper, chemical and food processing.

Principle

Density is measured according to absorption method. A radioactive source (Cs-137) contained in a lead-shield, steel-enclosed housing is mounted on one side of pipe with a scintillation detector on the opposite side. Gamma energy emitted from the source passes through the pipe and the process material. The amount of energy reaching the detector changes with the density change of the material being measured. Density is determined based on energy attenuation and fluid concentration or solid content is calculated via density.

●Measuring accuracy: ±0.1%-1% depending on the field conditions and measuring range

●IPC operating conditions: with temperature between 0℃~50℃, relative humidity no less than 90%

●Detector operating conditions: with temperature between -20℃~50℃, relative humidity no less than 95%

Features and advantages

●Non-contacting measurement allows the detector to be mounted on the outside wall of pipe or vessel without the upsets of viscosity, corrosion, abrasion, high temperature and pressure of the process material. Longer service life is achieved.

●Measuring readings are rarely interrupted by flow rate and temperature of the process material.

●The highly sensitive and efficient scintillation detector permits using a smaller source with less dose rate radiation which greatly ensures the operating safety.

●Drift caused by temperature or parts-aging is automatically compensated ensuring stability and repeatability of counting rate no more than 0.1%.

●Continuous pulse counting rate is up to 15 V and transmission distance is able to reach up to 1000m away with strong anti-interference performance.
