What are the blow molding materials?

The introduction blow molding materials?

1.Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)

One of the commonly used blow molding plastics, it is cheap and widely used. It is divided into two types: soft and hard. Hard polyethylene has high-strength mechanical properties, excellent electrical properties, good acid and alkali resistance, and good chemical stability. Soft polyethylene The performance of ethylene is worse than that of hard polyethylene, but its elongation at break is relatively high.

2.Polyethylene (PE)

Polyethylene is divided into three types: high-pressure, medium-pressure and low-pressure polyethylene. The texture of high-pressure polyethylene is flexible, while the texture of low-pressure polyethylene is relatively hard. It can withstand cold temperatures up to about minus 70 degrees. It also has relatively high chemical stability and can withstand acid, alkali, and Organic solvent, outstanding electrical properties and good radiation properties. However, the mechanical strength of polyethylene is not high, the thermal deformation temperature is low, and it cannot withstand high loads. Polyethylene is often used to make packaging films, fresh-keeping bags, and various packaging containers.

3.Polystyrene (PS)

It has excellent chemical stability and electrical properties, has a certain mechanical strength, has good coloring and light transmittance, is easy to form, and is almost completely resistant to water. However, it has low heat resistance and is relatively brittle. The products produced are due to internal stress. Because it will break easily, it can only be used under low load and at a temperature of 60~75℃. Polystyrene is often used to make various instrument casings, lampshades, toys, plastic parts, etc.

4.Polypropylene (PP)

Polypropylene has a low density, better mechanical properties than low-pressure polyethylene, outstanding rigidity, and good heat resistance. There is no problem in using it above 100℃. It basically does not absorb water, and its chemical stability is basically very stable except for concentrated sulfuric acid and concentrated nitric acid. It has excellent high-frequency electrical properties, is not affected by temperature, and is easy to form. The disadvantages are that the wear resistance is not high enough, it is brittle at low temperatures, the forming shrinkage is large, and the heat deformation temperature is low. It can be used to make lunch boxes, milk bottles, water cups, various mechanical parts, etc.

5.Polycarbonate(PC)

The impact strength is excellent among general thermoplastic resins, the elastic modulus is high, and the heat-resistant temperature is 120°C. It is minimally affected by temperature and will only become brittle at minus 100°C. It has good corrosion resistance and wear resistance and high dimensional stability. But there is some sensitivity to water at high temperatures. Commonly used to manufacture gears, worms, racks, cams, spindles, bearings, washers, rivets, pump impellers, automobile carburetor parts, etc.

6.Polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG)

PETG is a non-crystalline copolyester. Its products are highly transparent and have excellent impact resistance. They are especially suitable for forming thick-walled transparent products. Their processing and molding properties are excellent and they can be designed in any shape according to the designer's intention. Traditional extrusion, injection molding, blow molding and suction methods can be used. Molding methods such as plastic molding are commonly used in the production and manufacturing of household items, cosmetic containers, etc.

7.Thermoplastic elastomer (TPU)

Thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU) is a type of elastomer that can be plasticized by heating and dissolved by solvents. It has excellent comprehensive properties such as high strength, high toughness, wear resistance, and oil resistance. It has good processing performance and is widely used in national defense, medical, and In the food and other industries, it is often used to blow mold the soles of air-cushion shoes, medical balloons and other medical consumables.
