REDUCED RISK AND IMPROVED PERFORMANCE FOR WIND POWER,THANKS TO DROPSA AUTOMATIC LUBRICATION SYSTEMS

Like all mechanical systems, a good and constant lubrication system can help combat factors present in the industry such as; vibration, mechanical loads, contamination and humidity.

The specialized Dropsa engineers designed a lubrication system to improve the performance of the turbines utilizing automatic lubrication.

The Dropsa solution utilizes progressive systems to lubricate the three main points of the wind turbines: two inside of what is called "gondola or nacelle" which contains the electrical generator and auxiliary devices; and one on each of the usually 2 or 3 blades.

Inside the nacelle the lubricating points are continuously operating. The integrated control system within the BRAVO pump combined with the modular SMX or nP distributors ensure lubrication at regular intervals, thereby preventing failures.

The system designed for the lubrication of the blades, involves the use of the pump BRAVO Press, which includes all the advantages of the integrated control system of the standard BRAVO pump, but is also equipped with a follower plate and preloaded spring in the tank, to resist the centrifugal force and thus to avoid cavitations in the tank during operation.

The gears are carefully and evenly lubricated with Dropsa Pignone lubricant, a fully automated system that minimizes maintenance costs.

The wind farms are located in on-shore areas (open and windy) or offshore (a few miles from the coast of seas or lakes), both cases potentially high risk situations. The Dropsa automatic system allows reduced maintenance, and that means greater safety for operators and significant savings in maintenance costs.
