DSTI Employees Give Back To Community During Its Summer of Service

DSTI recently wrapped up its 'Summer of Service', a company-wide initiative that gives back to the community and local non-profit organizations.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - October 14, 2016 - DSTI recently wrapped up its 'Summer of Service', a company-wide initiative that gives back to the community and local non-profit organizations.

The company is proud to be part of the Andover community and to show support, employees organized various events to make it a brighter, better place.

In July, employees rolled up their sleeves in an effort to save lives by donating blood for the Memorial Blood Centers. This was the company's fifth blood drive, and in total, their donations have potentially saved over 600 lives.

During the month of August, DSTI collected school supplies for some of the nearly 1,000 homeless students in the Anoka-Hennepin District. Back-to-school time can be a huge expense for any family, but for the families and youth experiencing homelessness, obtaining supplies is nearly impossible.

In their most recent quest, DSTI employees picked up litter as part of the Adopt-A-Street and Pond program put on by the City of Andover.

"Andover is proud of the citizenship of DSTI and its employees. It is wonderful to see the leaders stay true to their local roots by supporting the community they grew up in," says Andover Mayor Julie Trude.

"Thank you for volunteering to make Andover cleaner, brighter and healthier in so many ways."

Although the summer is over, the generosity isn't. On October 18, DSTI is doing their part to help stop hunger by raising money and packing food for the non-profit organization Feed My Starving Children.
