New Infinity Ultrasonic Welding with Melt-Match® patented servo technology

Dukane’s Infinity welder improves the ultrasonic welding process by controlling all facets of motion with servo precision during the weld cycle

Dukane, St. Charles, IL introduces InfinityTM an extension to their proven line of servo driven Ultrasonic Welding systems with patented Melt-Match® technology. This system provides an infinite number of tools to control the ultrasonic process. Dukane’s Infinity welder improves the ultrasonic welding process by controlling all facets of motion with servo precision during the weld cycle. The Infinity servo welder provides the fastest approach to the weld position while controlling the initial contact force. Patented Melt-Detect™ technology resumes motion once the plastic material has begun to melt. Weld velocity can be programmed in 10 independent segments to match the melt rate of the material.

All stain less steel actuator is narrower than previous models and meets clean room requirements for medical manufacturers and others. By using the latest in load cell technology, the system provides easier calibration procedures and superior performance.

The advanced all electric press and digital control features of the InfinityTM Welder deliver unprecedented repeatability, accuracy, and reliability to ultrasonic welding process. Precise control of the weld and hold collapse distances, which stems from the underlying method of distance control by servo. In certain applications, it is desirable to profile the speed during the weld to match the natural rate of melt of the material. Since most ultrasonic welds are under 0.5 s in duration, it is criti¬cal to change speeds quickly to achieve meaningful weld profiling behavior. InfinityTM is capable of accelerations of 50 in/s2, which is equivalent to changing speed by 1 in/s. in 0.020 s.

InfinityTM welders are compliant with FDA CFR Title 21 Part 11 and feature a robust mechanical design and ultra-rigid support base. There are no operator-accessible settings and all mechanical adjustments require a tool. The elimination of compressed air helps to reduce clean room air filtration and significantly lowers manufacturing cost. InfinityTM is available in 20,30,35, and 40 kHz frequencies
