EBM-papst: Lecture at Atmosphere Europe

Flammable refrigerants and the effects on the Ventilatordesign.

Applications for refrigeration technology have one thing in common: the use of refrigerants. Patrick Stern, market manager refrigeration of EBM-papst, will present at the Conference of Atmosphere Europe in November 2018 in a workshop the Ventilatorlösungen of EBM-papst for the area.

The International Conference atmosphere Europe will take place from 19.0-21 November in Lago di Garda, Italy. In his presentation on 19 November, Patrick Stern will address the effects of combustible refrigerants and the associated effects on the Ventilatordesign.

Natural refrigerants on the rise

Since 1 January 2015, Regulation (EU) 517/2014, which is also known as the F-gas regulation, applies. The regulation regulates the gradual reduction of emissions from the industrial sector by 70% compared to 1990 by the year 2030. As an environmentally-friendly alternative to (partially) halogenated refrigerants, natural refrigerants such as isobutane, propane and props are increasingly being implemented alongside ammonia and CO2.

The hook on the thing

The non-toxic hydrocarbons, however, form easily explosive mixtures with air in the incident. The requirement for Ventilatorenhersteller is to develop products that meet the necessary safety requirements when dealing with natural refrigerants. At the same time, the fan should perform its work efficiently and quietly. EBM-Papst also meets these challenges – and Patrick Stern presents the solutions to this.

About Patrick Stern

He studied Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Patrick Stern has been working in various functions for EBM-papst for 18 years, first as a sales engineer for various areas. Since 2016 he is market manager for the refrigeration sector at EBM-Papst Mulfingen, and he is also an ATEX representative for sales.

About atmosphere The global series of conferences and network meetings has become a platform for discussing and advancing the use of natural refrigerants. In 2018 there are events in America, Europe, Asia, Australia and South Africa. The target group of the atmosphere events are decision makers from industry and government to shape the future of natural refrigerants. In addition, technology end users who can significantly influence climate change by purchasing a decision. EBM-Papst is a bronze sponsor of the atmosphere Europe 2018.
