ECM Technologies and the taiwanese institute MIRDC sign a MOU on vacuum heat treatment

ECM Technologies, a subsidiary of the ECM Group, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Taiwanese Metals Industry Research and Development Center (MIRDC).

The ECM Group is strengthening its presence in Taiwan and more generally in East Asia, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Taiwanese institute MIRDC: Metals Industry Research and Development Center. MIRDC has historically been a customer of ECM Technologies, a subsidiary of the ECM Group specializing in the manufacture of heat treatment equipment. In 2020, MIRDC invested in a low-pressure carburizing system with gas quenching to test vacuum technology on locally manufactured parts. Indeed, given its geographical location, manufacturing expertise and status as a supplier of precision components, Taiwan is regarded as a key hub for the global supply of machine components. MIRDC's investment reinforces this status by providing it with a heat treatment tool enabling it to monitor and control parts distortion during heat treatment, which is a significant gain for all precision industries.

In 2023, MIRDC and ECM Technologies signed an agreement and opened a Synergy Center - a test platform - bringing together the expertise of both parties. On the one hand, ECM Technologies is helping MIRDC to develop its processes. On the other, MIRDC showcases ECM Technologies' equipment. This test platform is located in Taiwan, in the MIRDC laboratory.

On 23 October 2024, ECM Technologies received the President of MIRDC and its Director for a signing ceremony of the MOU in France, in the presence of the chamber of commerce, GREX International and BPI France. This official visit renews the trust between the two organizations and gives concrete expression to the partnership and knowledge-sharing between MIRDC and ECM Technologies.
