Sensor technology for better safety in engineering structures

Safety is very important in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). It is all about damage detection and characterization strategy for engineering structures. Factors such as aging or degradation can potentially affect the performance or, in worst cases, cause damage or collapse, which can potentially endanger people.

They require no special mounting, protection or cleaning. This is a big plus in Structural Health Monitoring, as it helps reduce costs on installation, operation and maintenance, compared to other sensor solutions.
