Wood monitoring in constructions

Characterization and failure prediction of wood with sensors

Wood is renewal construction material and have been used for making building, bridges, and tunnels for centuries.

With the trend of digitalizing assets monitoring and increased safety regulations, monitoring the condition of wood, for predictive maintenance and early warnings, has become more important.

However, there have been limited sensor options to easily and effectively monitor deflections, strains, and cracks in wood.

ElastiSense can address this market limitation by offering All-Rubber sensors inherently suitable to measure and monitoring changes in woods caused by e.g. humidity, temperature, loads, aging, etc.
