SAN–ANTIMICROBIAL: the Elesa components line to contrast bacterial and microbial proliferation

According to OMS, the antimicrobic-resistance today represents one of the main threats for public health, because of the phenomenon’s epidemiologic and economic impact.

SAN-Antimicrobial is the Elesa components’ line projected to avoid the formation of microbes, bacteria and fungi on product’s surface, avoiding their reproduction and so guaranteeing a sanificant preventing action.

SAN components are realized in Technopolymer with antimicrobial additives based on silver ions on an inorganic basis (without pharmaceutical active ingredients, antibiotics or pesticides) that penetrate through the cell surface and attack its DNA, avoiding the proliferation of unwanted organisms.

The antimicrobic additives’ action causes the 98,9% of the bacteria to be eliminated over the course of 24 hours (ISO 22196:2001). Moreover, the silver ions’ controlled release mechanism allows the inalterability of antimicrobial characteristics to be extended over time, even after numerous washing cycles, as a guarantee of the SAN line’s antimicrobial characteristic.

These characteristics make SAN components ideal for the assembly on medical and hospital equipment, for rehabilitation and for disabled, for pharmaceutical industry machines, urban furnishings and public places.

The SAN – Antimicrobial Elesa line includes handles, grips, knobs, tightening wing nuts and handwheels, available in grey-black RAL 7021 colour or in the new white RAL 9016.

All SAN – Antimicrobial line’s components are provided with the certificate of conformity “materials’ Antimicrobial property”.
