EnviroChemie - Biomar plant treats 4,000 m³ of dairy wastewater per day in Brazil

The water then enters aerobic MBBR high-performance reactors (moving bed biofilm reactor), which are filled with special growth bodies for the fixation and retention of biomass. The wastewater is further treated in the denitrification and nitrification tank, and the subsequent post treatment of the wastewater is carried out using a sedimentation system.

The dairy wastewater treatment plant reduces the organic load by around 98%. The treatment capacity is designed for nearly 20,000 kg of organic load COD. The Biomar plant was installed in existing premises and facilities without interruption to operations. It was possible to integrate several existing process engineering systems. Design, construction and production of components was carried out at EnviroChemie in Germany. The installation and commissioning was supported by the local distributor, Enviro Tratamentos Especializados from Rio de Janeiro.
