SoC Board with integrated FPGA
Mezzanine Board for sophisticated applications, test systems and controls
The board XMC-CPU/Zulu is a mezzanine card based on the Xilinx MPSoCZync UltraScale+. The multi processor (System-on-Chip) ensures fast data transfer between
Gate-Array and CPU. Furthermore efficient data processing is provided by the Dual Core ARM Cortex A53 Application Processor Unit (APU) and the Dual-Core ARM Cortex R5 Realtime
Processor Unit (RPU). Thus, the XMC-CPU/Zulu can be used in many ways, e.g. for sophisticated applications, test and control systems.
Equipped with peripheral interfaces the board provides four Gigabit Ethernet, one serial port as well as more than 120 digital IOs. Two Ethernet interfaces can be accessed via the front panel, another two via Rear-IO XMC connector P6. An IO-Ethernet port at the front and the rear are guided by the FPGA. In this way demanding Ethernet applications can be realized, such as a high-performance EtherCAT Master with short equidistant cycle times and Distributed Clock Master. The serial interface is managed by a USB mini socket in the front panel and serves as terminal interface. The connectors P4 and P6 contain the IOs which are linked to the FPGA. They can either be configured as single-ended (LVTTL) or as LVDS pairs.
With a 32 Bit wide DDR4-RAM the board provides a total memory of 1 GByte. Moreover it has a 64 MByte SPI-Flash for the Bootloader and a 32 Kbit I²C EEPROM for the U-Boot environment. The 16 GByte eMMC mass storage is used for operating system, file system and application software.
A board support for PETA Linux and VxWorks 7 is available. Customers receive a sample project that can be used with the XILINX development environment. Along with it comes a hardware description, the device tree and config files.
