ETASIS announces new 800W CRPS (Common Redundant Power Supply)product with Cold Redundancy or Dual Mode

Cold Redundancy

In Cold Redundancy, energy efficiency is maximized in this "set-it-and-forget-it" feature via PMBus. Each power module is able to communicate and start up or go into hot-standby mode independently in order to achieve optimal energy efficiency.

At low load, for example, it is more efficient for few power supplies to be active while the others in the system remain in standby. The inactivated power supplies will remain in standby mode or "cold" until it optimal to do so or there is a failure of the active power supply.

DualMode via PMBus

ETASIS EFRP-P80A boasts a digital design with PMBus monitoring and control and operate on either 90VAC-264VAC or 192VDC-288VDC using the same universal input. If run in parallel, this module can be configured in AC/AC redundancy, DC/DC redundancy or in DualMode.

DualMode is active in setups utilizing one AC input power module (ACM) and one DC input power module (DCM). In DualMode, the ACM is configured to take on 100% load share, while the DCM waits in standby. If the ACM is not available due to AC loss, power failure or power module extraction, the DCM simultaneously starts-up, providing an uninterruptible power solution.

More than 80PLUS Platinum

ETASIS keeps optimizing circuit topology for more power efficiency under a quality engineering and design validation. The newly launched EFRP-P80A has exceeded the 80PLUS Platinum standard. It has a peak efficiency rated greater than 93% @ 20% of rated load and 94% @ 50% of total output. ETASIS ‘s leading technology ultimately reduces the amount of system power lost to heat and inefficiencies, reducing the total cost of ownership of system and improving system availability.
