It is important to know the level of fuel in the tank to ensure business continuity without interruption and to avoid placing fuel orders that will not fit in the tank.
Imagine the following scenario. You need 500 ml of milk, but the milk packaging is opaque, so you don't know how much is inside. In this case you can either estimate roughly, or empty the content into a scales cup.
In this example it's easy and inexpensive to estimate or empty the packaging, but what if you have a 10,000 liters storage tank?
