Water cooler RFI 2x400 for plant cultivation
How to manage the right temeperature in a climate chamber ?
Managing the temperature in a climate chamber for growing plants is essential to ensure their proper development.
Each plant species has an optimal temperature range within which its biological processes—such as photosynthesis and respiration—function efficiently.
A temperature that is too low can slow germination, growth, and flowering, while a temperature that is too high risks causing heat stress and irreversible damage. Precise control also makes it possible to replicate natural seasonal conditions, which is essential for certain sensitive species.
This helps improve the quality and consistency of harvests by limiting unexpected variations.
Furthermore, thermal stability reduces the risk of diseases linked to unsuitable conditions. Regulating temperature also optimizes water and nutrient use, as plant needs change depending on the ambient temperature.
Proper temperature management also makes scientific experimentation more reliable and reproducible.
To address all these issues, we are supporting STRADER. This company, which specializes in climate chambers and phytotrons, designs and manufactures equipment for plant professionals (researchers, academics, laboratories, biotechnology professionals, etc.).
Our engineers designed a rather unusual chiller for their needs: equipped with two refrigeration circuits, this RFI produces 2 x 28 kW of cooling power for -2°C glycol water and 35°C ambient air. (Technical details below, with a photo of the final acceptance test at our premises.).
