Material behaviour during laser processing

There are two different methods of producing acrylic glass that must be taken into consideration if optimum results are to be achieved during CO2 laser processing. There is cast (GS) acrylic glass and extruded (XT) acrylic glass. However, the material behaviour differs during laser processing. In the following, we explain what you have to watch out for!

Despite the high recycled content of at least 95%, CRYLON®re, AKRYLON®re and PERSPEX® XT re offer the same outstanding properties as classically produced, extruded acrylic glass and are therefore ideal for processing with a CO2 laser. The materials from 3A Composites Display Europe were thoroughly tested in our application centre and achieved excellent results.
