Liquid Cooling Becomes Core Infrastructure for AIEra Computing Facilities
From 6-8kW to 100kW Racks: UCloud's Roadmap for Making Liquid Cooling the AI-Era Standard
At TechWeek Shanghai's Liquid Cooling 2.0 forum, UCloud architect Xu Zhiyu shared how liquid cooling has become critical infrastructure for AI-era computing, as GPU chip power of 700-1400W pushes rack density from traditional 6-8kW toward 50-100kW-plus, beyond air cooling's 15-30kW physical limit and PUE 1.45 ceiling, while national policies require PUE below 1.25 for new builds. Cold plate solutions dominate commercial deployment with strong server compatibility, while phase-change immersion can push PUE below 1.08. Three trends emerge: on-chip microchannels, maturing domestic supply chains, and data centers becoming energy hubs supplying 40-60°C hot water. EXTRCOOL provides one-stop liquid cooling solutions.
