Two Deployment Forms of RearDoor Heat Exchanger for Diverse DataCenter Construction Needs

Per-Rack Retrofit vs Row-Level Enclosure: Matching RDHx Deployment to Phased Upgrades or New Builds

Two mainstream rear-door heat exchanger deployment forms serve different data center needs: the RDHx rear-door solution installs heat exchangers directly on each cabinet for independent, phased retrofits without enclosed hot-aisle infrastructure, while the hot-aisle enclosed wall-mounted solution collects heat from an entire row at aisle ends or ceiling for centralized exchange in new high-density clusters. A 50% ethylene-glycol antifreeze mixture carries roughly 3000 times the volumetric heat of atmospheric-pressure air, so liquid flow stays far below air-cooled volume. RDHx achieves PUE of 1.1-1.25 in high-density scenarios, or 1.1-1.2 after retrofitting from 1.4-1.8, adding only 200-400mm rack depth with no server modification.
