The Rear Door Heat Exchanger, Rack-Level Cooling Without the Retrofit
Replace the Door, Capture the Exhaust: RDHx Cooling From About $5,000 per Rack With No Room Rework
Data center energy use is expected to triple over the next decade, and the rear door heat exchanger offers rack-level cooling without major rework: replacing the cabinet's rear door with liquid cooling coils captures server exhaust before it enters the room, and the heat leaves through a closed liquid loop to a dry cooler or cooling tower, cutting mechanical cooling energy. It needs no immersion tank, no server-level modification and typically costs less than immersion or custom direct-to-chip, starting around 5,000 dollars per rack. Very high density racks still favor direct-to-chip or immersion. EXTRCOOL provides one-stop liquid cooling solutions.
