The CDU, Inside the Heart of Liquid-Cooled Data Centers

Cold Plate Decides How Heat Leaves the Chip, CDU Decides How Heat Leaves the Room: The Two-Sided Role of the Cooling Distribution Unit

The CDU, the cooling distribution unit, decides how heat leaves the room while the cold plate decides how it leaves the chip, sitting between the primary side of dry coolers and cooling towers and the secondary loop of cabinets, manifolds and cold plates. Centralized units serve a whole room with dual-pump redundancy, distributed boxes serve one or a few racks, and the liquid-liquid CDU supports 50 kilowatts and beyond with PUE below 1.2. Data centers take about 60 percent of the market, industrial manufacturing about 25 and medical imaging about 10. EXTRCOOL provides one-stop liquid cooling solutions.
