The CDU, the Heat-Exchange Logic at the Core of Liquid Cooling

Two Loops, One Plate Wall, 95% Exchange Efficiency: The Indirect-Exchange Design That Keeps Outdoor Water Out of the Server Loop

The CDU works not by producing cold but by transferring heat between the outdoor cold source and the server loop through controlled exchange, and the design rests on two independent loops joined by a plate exchanger so fluids never mix: the primary loop runs to the cooling tower, dry cooler or chiller at 15 to 22 degrees, and the secondary loop carries a dedicated insulating coolant that returns from the servers warmed to 28 to 35 degrees, with the corrugated stainless plates pushing exchange efficiency above 95 percent. Rack power has climbed past 50 kilowatts with some AI centers over 100, and the CDU cuts cooling energy more than 40 percent. EXTRCOOL provides one-stop liquid cooling solutions.
