SERVO-BLANKING LINE: NEW FAGOR ARRASATE INSTALLATION FOR A LEADING OEM IN INDIA

The strong growth in global car production after the economic crisis of 2008 and 2009 has brought new challenges for car manufacturers in terms of increased production capacities.

Servoblanking

During 2015, Fagor Arrasate, holding firm to its commitment to share the challenges of its customers -SHARING YOUR CHALLENGES- will commission a new servo-blanking line for a major OEM

in India. This installation will allow the manufacturer to ensure the production increase mentioned above.

The installation can process coils of up to 32 tonnes in weight, 2000mm in diameter and a coil width that can range from 500mm to 1850mm, with a material thickness up to 3.2mm. Cold rolled steel or

hot-rolled pickled and oiled steel, electro-galvanized and hot-dip galvanized or high-strength steels are the types of materials from which blanks of different shapes and sizes are obtained.

After reaching annual production figures beyond 73.2 million vehicles before the start of the recession (2007), major car manufacturers are currently facing the challenge of taking on the higher demand being generated worldwide.

Blanking lines combined with a servo-press offer increased productivity when compared to blanking lines and conventional mechanical presses with a flywheel. These types of installations allow manufacturers to meet their production needs with greater flexibility.

Servo-press motors act directly on the drivetrain, avoiding the need of a flywheel and a clutchbrake

used on conventional mechanical presses, thereby facilitating maintenance tasks. Apart from these benefits, the greatest advantage of a servopress is the enormous increase of productivity

when compared to conventional machinery, due to the higher throughputs being achieved.
