FAP has chosen exclusively counter-rotating twin screw technology for its extruders

Safety and reliability of equipment has always been and remains one of the main arguments when making a purchase decision

Thanks to the analysis of the technical characteristics and performance of different technologies for the production of non-cross-linked foam materials, already more than 30 years ago, FAP team came to the conclusion that the counter-rotating twin-screw technology has a great number of decisive advantages over such technologies as single-screw, tandem, co-rotating twin-screw.

Here are some of crucial advantages for success extrusion:

- All components of recipe, exclusively in granules, are mixed before the entrance of the machine by the gravimetric dosing station, except the gas which is injected in the centre of the machine;

- The machine never works "full mouth", instead of it is controlled by the flow rate of the dosing station and the speed of rotation of double screws;

- The mixing is ensured by the mechanical work of the screw profiles during the advancement of the mixing, allowing to adjust the pressures of the mixture and to change very fast flow and density of foam, as fact all parameters can be changed in a few seconds or minutes;

- With only one machine it is possible to produce an incredible range of foam products in terms of densities and thicknesses;

- Extruder capacity is adjustable in a proportion of almost 400%, for example model EXT753 (diam. 120mm) minimum capacity of 120 kg/h with a maximum one of 400 kg/h.

The history of FAP began in 1987 with the first counter-rotating twin-screw foam extruder with anti-gas return safety device, but also with the construction of the first winder in the world with soft winding system for very “fragile” product as foam that require the same thickness from the start to the end of the roll. And FAP is proud to share that the first "sons" are still working hard.

After the first years from FAP's birth finally a new one extrusion line with absolutely new performance (less than 10 Kg/m3 for a thickness of 2 mm) was developed in 1997. In the following years, respectively in 2010 and in 2015, were developed a new screw with cylinder technology and a foam extruder with a new production capacity, recording system, internet support. In the following years FAP has focused on developing and improving of its lines, constructing each new one with improved performance, screw profiles and head design. Therefore, each FAP line is unique and individual.

SO, NOW IN 2021, FAP CAN SAFETY DECLARE THAT ITS TWIN-SCREW TECHNOLOGY IS UNPARRALLED IN THE WORLD FOR NON-CROSS-LINKED PE&PP FOAM PRODUCTIONS WITH DIRECT GAS INJECTION!

We have a long history as an independent family business with solid foundations and we are constantly developing. - said Francesco Poli, the company Sales Director - We continually strive to improve, every day, and proactively shape the future also thanks to the close collaboration created with our customers.

In years of the history FAP has gained trust and approval of the customers from more than 21 countries.
