Concrete Rapid Method for the determination of frost of Frost-Resistance by Repeated Alternated Freezing and Thawwing

Standards: Russian ГОСТ 10060.0 / 10060.2

Temperature range: -50°/+70°C

Temperature stability: ±1°C

Procedure

The main samples, saturated with a 5% water solution of Sodium Chloride, are placed in a tank filled with the same solution in order to test the frost-resistance properties of the samples. The samples are located on two wooden pads and the distance between the samples and the tank walls shall be (10±2) mm, while the layer of the solution above the sample surface shall be no less than 10 mm. The sample dimensions are 100x100x100 mm (there are 12 samples), therefore the tank dimensions shall be at least 110x110x110 mm per sample. If the tank is intended for several samples, then the distance between the samples shall be no less than 50 mm. The main samples are placed into a freezing chamber at internal air temperatures of no higher than 10 °C in tanks closed from above, so that the distance between the tank walls and the chamber walls shall be no less than 50 mm. After the temperature of -10 °C is established in the closed chamber, the temperature is lowered during (2.5±0.5) hours down to (-50-55) °C and expos re is maintained for (2.0±2.5) h. Thereafter, the temperature inside the chamber shall be increased during (1.5±0.5) h to -10 °C. Cubes with 100 mm edges are thawed during (2.5±0.5) h at temperatures of (18±2) °C
