Service value can be seen from the quotation: the 9 elements that make the difference
Does a well-prepared quotation provide value to the customer? We believe it does.
Apart from the form, which may be a negligible aspect, certain elements in a quotation really make a difference and give an idea of how reliable a supplier is, reassuring the customer that they can count on an order executed to the highest standards without any surprises at the end.
For example, a quotation for the supply of machinery, possibly advanced, must always contain the following information:
- A detailed description of the product being quoted: especially when it is a complex solution composed of several building blocks
- Any additional items the product needs to work: for example, we might buy a hair dryer without the cable, and then need to spend more for that than for the product itself
- The electrical and pneumatic consumption specifications, and any adaptation needed for European or non-European systems
- The exact supply quantities
- The price, any discount and clear payment terms
- References to contractual clauses
- Clearly defined supply terms and delivery times
- Product warranty information and any preventive maintenance information
- A declaration that the goods are accompanied by operation and maintenance manuals: you might argue that they are required by European community law, but unfortunately it is not always the case.
It is therefore natural for us to say: compare our quotations with those of the competition!
This is one way of assessing a partner's value. And if you have never asked Fiam for a quotation, it may be a good idea to start!
