New automatic MCA tightening modules

To innovate your productivity, increasing reliability

Today, innovating your tightening processes and making them more reliable is even easier thanks to Fiam's new MCA modules with automatic screw feeding.

Plug & Play solutions that can be used to automatically tighten large sets of same screws, ready and tested for integration into your production layout, be it an assembly line, a manipulator, electric x,y,z Cartesian axes, a robot or collaborative robots.

Some advantages?

- they fit in weight and size into any operational layout and solve any production rate

- they meet different tightening torque/angle control levels for tightening with extreme flexibility

- they are customized according to the type of screw to be used, the type of material to be tightened as well as its geometries and tightening points

- they interface with the Factory System and the various production line devices, for real-time management and programming, even remotely.

WHAT DO THEY ARE COMPOSED OF?

- EASY DRIVER SCREW FEEDER: with integrated PLC, Modbus TCP/IP protocol and EDMI Web Server interface.

- NUTRUNNER MOTOR: pneumatic or electric to fulfill any requirement for torque, speed and type of control and programming

- FASTENING SLIDE: due to its lightness and size, it can be integrated anywhere and handles approach stroke even from the bottom to the top and on very close centre-to-centre distances

- SCREW RETAINING HEAD: always customized, to tighten any type of screw, anywhere and without risk of screw loss inside components thanks to the mechanical screw retention

INDUSTRY 4.0 SOLUTIONS

Thanks to interconnectivity:

- you can remotely manage them in real time

- you can interface them with PLCs and various devices on the production line interacting for example with: Bar Code reader, Conveyor belt, Workpiece clamping jigs activation/deactivation systems, Signaling and monitoring mechanisms such as LEDs, part counters, light towers.

- with data storage you can arrange statistics to monitor the machine's operating cycle and consequently productivity

PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR ANY REQUIREMENT

You can choose from multiple nutrunner motors with different levels of torque or torque/angle/time control systems by means of:

- mechanical clutch and automatic shut-off

- torque/angle current control

- torque/angle control with built-in transducer and resolver

ALSO FOR COBOT

CA tightening modules can also be used with all the collaborative robots available on the market,

- to automate repetitive tightening operations and make the most of operators' skills

- to work in complete safety since the screw tip is never present in the movements

- to screw without ruining surfaces: the patented device used, with automatic forward bit stroke, prevents the screwdriver head from resting on surfaces, preserving them from any contact.

During the tightening phase, the screwdriver’s head does not touch the surfaces of the component, protecting them from any potentially damaging contact.
