Fiberscope.net is excited to announce a key upgrade to the STRAHL HD Downhole Well Camera system. The newly improved control unit is now equipped with a 13” HD IPS LCD screen, offering sharper visuals and a more spacious display for real-time viewing of inspections. This replaces the previous 8” monitor, making it easier to identify details during downhole surveys.

Another important improvement is the addition of a built-in keyboard. Previously offered as a separate wireless accessory, the keyboard is now integrated into the unit itself, allowing operators to quickly add notes and comments during inspections without handling multiple devices. The upgraded unit also remains splashproof for added protection in harsh or wet environments.

The control unit continues to support high-resolution image and video capture, an on-screen footage counter, USB flash memory storage, and includes a built-in microphone for audio recording during inspections.

The rest of the STRAHL HD system remains unchanged and continues to offer reliable performance for borehole and well inspections. It features a 45mm (1.77”) dual-view camera head with a forward-facing lens and a side-view camera capable of 360° endless panning. Both cameras are supported by high-output LED lights, providing clear imaging even in low-light or sediment-heavy conditions.

Built from stainless steel and sealed to IP68 waterproof standards (up to 30 bar in freshwater), the camera is rated for depths of up to 200 meters (656 ft.). The system operates on an 8mm flexible twisted pair cable, available on either a manual or motorized reel, both of which include a built-in footage counter and a tensioning arm.

Compact, lightweight, and battery-powered, the STRAHL HD is well-suited for field operations where portability and image clarity are a priority—making it a dependable solution for water well inspections, groundwater assessments, and environmental or geological surveys.
