TRACER X20 Floating Pipe Inspection Robot for Flooded Sewers and Drainage Systems

The TRACER X20 is a floating robot designed for inspecting flooded sewer and drainage pipes where standard crawlers cannot operate.

FIBERSCOPE, a North American distributor, announces the TRACER X20, a self-propelled floating inspection robot suitable for municipal wastewater, industrial drainage, and large pipes where water or silt would otherwise require dewatering.

Solving Pipe Inspection Where Conventional Crawlers Cannot Operate
Flooded sewer inspection is a longstanding challenge: wheeled and tracked pipe crawlers lose traction in submerged or silted lines. This leaves costly choices—either to bypass pumping to dewater for inspection or to delay the work.

The TRACER X20 solves this by using a spiral screw drive instead of wheels or tracks, enabling it to move through flood, mud, or silt conditions without traction. It works for siphon, interceptor, stormwater, and industrial drain inspections—areas where conventional crawlers fail.

Engineered for Large-Diameter, Long-Distance Deployments
The TRACER X20 operates in pipes ranging from 24 to 157 inches wide (DN600–DN4000; DN means nominal diameter) for up to 6,700 feet and is rated for full submersion during extended inspections in challenging conditions.
The system is equipped with:
• HD PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) video with 10x zoom and full camera rotation for comprehensive visual inspection
• Powerful LED lighting calibrated for turbid (murky) and low-visibility underwater conditions.
• Rear camera for bidirectional inspection without repositioning
• Optional sonar (acoustic imaging) and 2D LiDAR (laser-based mapping), providing structural and dimensional data in addition to standard visual inspection — useful where water clarity limits camera-only assessment.

Built for Municipal, Utility, and Infrastructure Inspection Teams
TRACER X20 serves municipal sewer teams, utility contractors, and inspection companies who regularly encounter flooded lines. It eliminates the need for dewatering or bypass pumping, thereby reducing traditional costs and delays.
